After several hours of trying to decipher Spirit Airlines baggage policies, added fees and lack of response by customer service, I still was stupid enough to roll the dice and book a flight to Fort Meyers, FL. Spirit had all my personal information, credit card information, and additional fees for my baggage. After not one, nor two, but three attempts to book this flight, Spirit informed me that they no longer had seats available (even though their reservation list still showed unsold seats). Finally, out of frustration, I turned to Delta, which in the end, only ended up costing $50 more for two round trip tickets. The adage that you get what you pay for certainly applies here. I just thank my lucky stars that Spirit is so inept that they can't keep their reservation site current. Moral of the story is unless you travel like Jack Reacher (fictional character) with the shirt on your back and a toothbrush in your pocket, you're better off booking flights with reputable airlines.
