Randy writes: I accepted a bump from Spirit on my outbound flight from MSP to FMY. They booked me on a Delta flight the next morning.
When I attempted to print my boarding pass on 4/17/13 I couldn't do it. I called Spirit and they claimed I was a no-show for the original flight despite the fact they showed I had vouchers. They continued to claim I was a no show and refused to rebook my flight back to MSP. I was on the phone for over an hour. Spirit lied to me and claimed the return flight was cancelled and then they said it was full. And then they would go back to claiming I was a no-show and they would again say I could use my vouchers in 6 days to return to MSP.
I was handed back to an agent who then claimed that the gate agent should have informed me that my return flight would be cancelled. I spoke to a gate agent at FMY who said that was false. Spirit refused to rebook my flight and I was forced to pay for a return flight. This was with out a doubt the most ridiculous thing I have ever ecountered. When my sister-in-law was picking me up at FMY, the ticket agent she spoke to told her that their system showed I had been bumped. There is no reason on this earth that Spirit would not put me on that plane. I absolutely should not have had to purchase a return ticket home.
