Radhika D. writes: HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR DAMAGED LUGGAGE I traveled with Spirit Airlines from Oakland, CA to Las Vegas, NV, which is less than an hour flight. I paid $30 for such a small duration flight. When we get to LA, we see our BROKEN large Samsung suitcase lying there. The suitcase was in great condition when we checked it in, and it came back totally broken (big hole punched on the front panel, as if an iron rod was pushed into it). I had to wait for hours to get a document from them and they said just call the customer care line and they would take it from there.
I called customer care a million times and there is no way to reach them. Hence, I wrote a complaint online. When I heard back from them, they said they need proof of everything, send all those documents to Miramar, FL. My documents were not taken care for months. Hence, I kept on emailing them to check what happened with my damaged luggage complaint. Finally, they got back saying they have sent me settlement, which was $49.72 check. WHAT A JOKE!!!! I paid $30 to get my suitcase (bought for $199) on a one-hour flight, you BREAK it all, there is no way to use it, and I have to buy a new one: YOU GIVE ME $49.72 for it? Even though it was 4-year-old bag, I had hardly used it. I am very disturbed with the service given by Spirit Airlines. I am DAMN SURE I will never travel with Spirit now and I will also make sure the world knows about such service.
