Jody writes: Our family of six flew spirit airlines to San Diego to see my son's graduation from boot camp at the Marine base. It was a wonderful experience and we are so proud of him. He was given a ten-day leave.
Our return trip with SPIT airlines became a nightmare.The flight was delayed for 3 hours only to be canceled. We were told that our refund would come in 7 to 10 days.They could not help us find another flight. We were told that they do not pay for motels. I asked the person in charge if this is how they treat the men that protect our country. He replied "I will tell you what I told everyone else. There is nothing I can do for you."
I called Spirit's 800 number assuming i would get some help. They let me know that was not going to happen. With half our night spent in the San Diego airport, we got 4 motel rooms costing our group $360. We got some rest and showered. We were able to find flights on our own. Thank you Southwest Airlines! We got our Marine home for a much needed rest. SPIT airlines is unAmerican. They know and they don't care.
